Workshop Host: ATMO-ACCESS
ATMO-ACCESS (Atmospheric Measurement and Observation – Access to European Infrastructures) is a European research initiative dedicated to integrating key atmospheric research facilities into a single, accessible network. By providing coordinated virtual and physical access to Europe’s leading ground-based observation stations, simulation chambers, and mobile facilities, ATMO-ACCESS fosters the next generation of research, innovation, and training in atmospheric science. The project aims to enhance data quality, develop best practices, and support scientists in addressing critical environmental challenges.
Workshop Description: Unlocking ATMO-ACCESS Virtual Training Tools
Dive into the future of atmospheric science education with this interactive workshop. This session introduces the innovative suite of free virtual training resources developed by ATMO-ACCESS. Participants will discover how to leverage these powerful tools for their own learning and research, including a comprehensive Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on atmospheric science, a library of expert-led video tutorials, and an engaging “Serious Game” designed to simulate real-world research challenges. This workshop provides a hands-on guide to accessing and utilizing these resources to deepen your understanding of atmospheric processes and measurement techniques.
Presenter Bios: Dr. Véronique Riffault & Antonia Zogka

Dr. Véronique Riffault and Antonia Zogka are the collaborative team from IMT Nord Europe behind the development of ATMO-ACCESS’s innovative virtual training tools. Dr. Riffault, an Associate Professor and researcher in atmospheric science, provides the core scientific expertise on aerosols and air quality. Antonia Zogka, an Educational Engineer, translates this complex science into engaging digital formats, including MOOCs and the project’s “Serious Game.” Together, their combined skills ensure the ATMO-ACCESS resources are both scientifically robust and highly effective for a new generation of researchers.
